Biblical Basis for Missions

Our call to GO into the world to serve others is based on a clear reading of scripture, especially two important passages:

The Great Commandment

“’Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’  This is the first and greatest commandment.  And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’  All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments *Matthew 22:37-39).” The core doctrine of a disciple of Jesus Christ is to live a life of love: Love of God, love of neighbor and love of self. Our desire to serve is built on this foundation.

The Great Commission

“Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19).” Jesus always sought wholeness in his earthly ministry, healing both physically and spiritually. We hope to not only take care of the needs of the people we meet but share God’s love so that they have an opportunity to be healed spiritually as well.
