Relevant: We will continually seek to gain an understanding of our culture and how to present the Good News of Jesus Christ in worship experiences that impact lives in the 21st century through music, the arts, relationships, and preaching, that is not only informational, but transformational. (Romans 12.1-2, 1 Cor. 9.19-23)

Outreach: Our community is filled with people who are broken and disconnected in so many ways. Human needs and matters of faith intersect daily without notice by many. Loving God and loving others go hand in hand in being a Christian – therefore, we will always reach out beyond our own comfort zones to others in need. (Matt.22.35-40, 25.31-46)

Changed Lives: The life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ make a difference in people’s lives. The measure of success at Rockbridge is seeing Jesus change people’s lives through the people and ministries of the church. As individuals are changed, families are changed; and our communities are strengthened because of it. (John 3.1-8, 2 Cor. 3.18)

Kids Are Engaged: Rockbridge will partner with parents in growing their children up the ways of the Lord. Children will have fun, experience the love of God, and learn to walk as a disciple of Jesus Christ through multimedia, music, authentic relationships, and hands-on experiences. (Prov. 22.6, Eph. 6.4)

Bible Based: The Bible is our roadmap for life. It is used in our worship experiences, studies, small groups, and decision making processes to guide us in God-centered living. (2 Timothy 3.16-17)

Rely On Prayer: The lifeline of Rockbridge is prayer. We practice this spiritual discipline to make sure we stay aligned with God and grow in love of Him. We are intentional in helping others learn and practice prayer and being in His presence. (Matt. 6.5-13, Phil.4.6-7)

Intentional Kingdom Building: We will reach as many lives as possible with the Good News of Jesus Christ. Building a church to our liking is secondary to helping people learn how to love God, love others, and walk with Jesus. Rockbridge will help birth new churches to expand God’s Kingdom into places we cannot reach. By the power of the Holy Spirit, we will continue the ministry of Jesus Christ to the world for the glory of God and the sake of the world. (Matt.6.33, Acts 8.4-8, 11.19-24)

Disciple Making: Christians never graduate from learning to love God and others. Through studies, service, hands-on experiences, and apprenticeships with mature followers of Christ, Rockbridge will create an environment where the Spirit of God is invited to continually mold and shape believers into dedicated disciples, making a difference in people’s lives inside and outside the church family. (Matt.28.16-20, Eph.4.11-16, 1 Peter 4.10-11)

God Centered: Rockbridge is centered on God and His purposes. We do not wish God to bless what we are already doing or wish to do. We seek to understand what God’s will is, what He is already doing or will do, and join Him in His work. (Proverbs 3.5-6, Matthew 7.15-23)

Excellence: Because God gives His best to us, we will strive to give our best in serving Him and others. We will not settle for mediocrity or the easy way. Perfection is not possible. But giving the best we can in serving God by our prayers, presence, gifts, and service is our priority. (John 13.34-35, 1 Peter 1.13-16)
